Haghpat

If Armenia is an open-air museum, then Lori province is one of the most luxurious halls of this museum.  We suggest having a look at one of the masterpieces of this hall -Haghpat monastery complex.  Let’s taste together one of the most precious parts of this wonderful corner of Armenia. Feel the spirit of the heroic past, admire the talent of the architects who inherited these wonders to all the later generations. Moreover, indulge in the arms of an unbelievable peace. Originally, Saint Nishan (Sourb Nshan) founded the monastery in the 10th century during the reign of  King Abas I. The nearby monastery at Sanahin was built around the same time. The exceptional location of the complex overlooking the Debed river will leave you speechless. People who have an idea about architecture and its development will admire the unique style, unbelievable physical and mathematical calculations, and frescoes dating back to the 10th century.
