Noravank is a gorgeous monastic complex hidden in the gorge of the river Amaghu. The monastery is one of the brightest examples of Armenian unique architecture.
The construction of the monastic complex started in the early beginning of the 12th century. Afterwards, the Orbelians family continued during the 13th-14th century. So, it became an amazing jewel of the mountains around it. Recently, in 2002 Noravank entered the UNESCO World Heritage Sites as a cultural unique example.
In the beginning, it has been a very important cultural, educational, and spiritual centre for Armenians. And now it is one of the must-visit places in the Vayots Dzor region.
The monastic complex is amid high red rocky mountains and makes perfect harmony with its surrounding nature. The picturesque scenery and quiet atmosphere grab you and make you feel out of the world.
