The cableway ‘Wings of Tatev‘ is another way to get to the monastery. But why is it so famous and special? Wings of Tatev is in the Guinness World Records Book as the world’s largest non-stop double track cable car.
Wings of Tatev is a 5.7km cableway stretching from Halidzor to Tatev monastic complex. It is the longest reversible aerial tramway in the whole world. The reversible aerial tramway is the result of the Tatev Revival Project. It was officially launched in 2010. The project is non-commercial. Therefore, the entire profit of the project goes to the restoration of the monastic complex and development programs of the local community.
