The Museum "Treasures of Etchmiadzin"

If you are in Armenia, you just cannot miss the opportunity to see one of the most incredible constructions in the world. They are Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the Treasury Museum of Etchmiadzin.

Armenia is the first country to adopt Christianity as the state religion. Additionally, Etchmiadzin is the first cathedral in the world. The Cathedral was constructed in the fourth century, right after the adoption of Christianity. Entering the Cathedral, in the southeastern part, you will see the Treasury Museum of Etchmiadzin. A lot of valuable and highly important pieces of art are kept there such as the Holy Lance (Geghard) which pierced the side of Christ and the relics of Noah’s Ark in a reliquary.
