TOUCH OF HISTORY
Tigranakert is an Armenian city in Artsakh. It has been built by Armenian king Tigran the Great who has been one of the most influential kings in the history of Armenia. There are four cities with the same name. The cities have been named after our king Tigran the Great.
This Tigranakert is not only a city but it is also an archaeological museum. Excavations started in March 2005. The artifacts discovered during the excavations obviously show the rich and unique cultural life during the early periods. The town is entirely built of local white limestone. This needs seeing and feeling the real breath of history.
In short, be the king or be the archaeologist, be the soldier or be the guard, be the observer, or be whoever you like right here, in Tigranakert fortress.
