Armenia always has something unique to suggest with each monastery or church. Here we are at St Hripsime Church which is one of the oldest surviving churches in Armenia. Catholicos Komitas built the church in 618 AD atop the original mausoleum of St. Hripsime. She was martyred in a cruel way for preaching Christianity and refusing the love of our King Tiridates. The structure amazes everyone with its unique style and unbelievable architectural calculations from as early as the 7th century. Later this construction influenced many other Armenian churches and, and several masters started to widely use many of its architectural elements all over Armenia. This church together with other nearby sites is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Additionally, it is located right in the middle of the two sacred peaks of the Armenian Highlands – Ararat and Aragats.
