“Armenia is a wonderland… If asked where any more miracles can be found on our planet, I would name, first of all, Armenia… I think all the preconditions for the development of civilization are focused here”
This is what Rockwell Kent writes about Armenia, and you can see the evidence for this Karahunj or Zorats Karer. It is one of the world’s oldest astronomical observatories which is at least 3,500 years older than British Stonehenge. But not everyone agrees with that interpretation. This site has been excavated by different archaeological groups. But nearly all of them came to the conclusion that it had at least two meanings – ritual and scientific.
According to the Armenian tradition, the name of the site comes from two words ‘car‘ meaning stone, and ‘henge’ meaning sound. One can hardly imagine that 7500 or even more years ago people could divide the Earth into constellations and name them. Moreover, they could carry out different astronomical studies, but this is not the most amazing part. The most amazing part is the location itself. It makes everyone feel the flow of positive energy all around the territory. Let’s feel this energy and trace our minds a little bit back into this mystic past that still calls us into its arms.
