Yerevan, one of the oldest capitals in the world, is the proud descendant of Erebuni.
If you find it impossible to witness any monument dating back to the 8th century BC then you need to come to Armenia. Erebuni Museum-Fortress will welcome you inside its pre-Christian walls. It boasts heroic past and mystic stories.
The archaeological site of Erebuni dates back to 782 BC. Also, it serves as a passport for Yerevan with its cuneiform inscriptions and artifacts exhibited in the museum. The city was established by Argishti the First even earlier than the foundation of Rome. Argishti was an Armenian powerful king.
The museum-reserve gives deep insight into the daily life, culture, and lifestyle of the fortress and the people living thousands of years before us.
