Lori fortress - Stepanavan Dendropark - Return to Yerevan

Departure from the hotel. A professional, experienced driver in a comfortable car picks you up from the hotel and your unforgettable journey begins.

Lori fortress. We invite you on an exciting journey through time to the fortified city of Lori. Tens of centuries ago, life was raging here – churches were built everywhere, handicraft shops stood in rows, traditional weddings were held, the smell of freshly baked lavash was in the air (especially during religious festivities) and the voices of church hymns were heard. Lori Berd (“berd” in Armenian is “fortress”) was a small but majestic hidden corner in the era of Feudal Armenia, but today only ruins sprouted with greenery and divine views of unshakable long mountain ranges and deep gorges remain from it.

An interesting fact: in ancient Armenia, most of the monasteries, churches, cities, fortresses tried to build in high mountainous areas. The reason lies in the presence of natural protection in the form of high cliffs and deep canyons.

Stepanavan Dendropark. It’s time to air your lungs in the first Botanical Garden of Armenia, founded by the Polish biologist Edmond Leopoldovich Leonovich. Stepanavan Arboretum, spread out on the slope of Mount Argasar, is covered with countless trees and plants brought from different parts of the world: from America, Europe, Africa, etc. Here your body will live a complete reboot.

An interesting fact: essential oils produced by trees and plants in the botanical garden have a very beneficial effect on human health and mental state

Return to Yerevan.
