Later, drive further to visit the Birds’ caves – with more than 6000 years history of winemaking. In brief, this region is an ideal place to try organic wine and explore local winemaking techniques. Start the second part of your trip to Armenia and Georgia. At first, get to Mtskheta – the first capital of Georgia. Take in the whole spiritual atmosphere of the town and, then, head to Jvari Temple. Located at the top of the hill it offers a fascinating view of the confluence of the two rivers Kura and Aragvi. At last, drive back to Tbilisi to continue with a city tour including an in-depth exploration of the old town, cable car trips to Narikala Fortress, a visit to the Bridge of Peace and Armenian Church, Jewish Synagogue and Turkish Mosque. Head to the east of the country, to Kakheti – the main winemaking region of Georgia. Savour the authentic views and tiny streets of Sighnaghi – a royal town founded in the 18th century. Then, in the local winery have a tour and degustation of Georgian traditional local wine. Feel the Georgian nature and learn about their history. Drive towards the Caucasus Mountains to visit Ananuri Castle.
