This time enjoy the tour to Geghard Monastery. The name Geghard appeared because of the spear kept there, with the help of which the Roman soldier pierced Jesus Christ while on the cross. In Armenian, it is called “Geghard”. Secondly, continue your wonderful tour to Garni Temple which was once the summer residence for the Armenian Kings. Garni is the only standing pagan temple in Armenia. The temple stands on a high plateau overlooking the gorge of Azat river. The plateau itself is incredibly beautiful and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the surrounding area. It is also home to the roman bathhouse with the mysterious mosaic, made out of 30,000 pieces of natural stones. Then you will enjoy baking traditional Armenian bread called lavash with local people.
If you want to enjoy the nature of Armenia, then we offer you to head to Lake Sevan. Here the monastery of Sevanavank is waiting for you. Sevanavank was built by the Armenian Princess Mariam to honour her deceased husband in the 9th century. It is home to the most wonderful Amenaprkich cross-stones (khachkar), which is one of the rarest cross-stones depicting Jesus. Your next destination is Parz Lake (Clear Lake ) as water in the lake is transparent, a little greenish. The forest is very close to the shoreline and the massive trees, leaning to the lake, are reflecting on the hyaline. If you are an adventure lover, so you can enjoy the flying on the zip line. Then head to town Dilijan, where you will get a chance to try some local craft -pottery with the master.
