The church was built in the place, where the Son of God (Jesus Christ) appeared in the dream of the first Bishop of Armenia St. Gregory the Illuminator, pointing out the place with his golden hammer. This is where the name Etchmiadzin (Only-begotten came down) emerged. Visit Etchmiadzin on Sunday to participate in the holy liturgy to have an insight into this different way of life.
