Day 1 Arrival: City Tour May 16:

Once you arrive at Zvartnots International Airport, you will meet Feel Armenia team. Then, we will transfer to the hotel. You’ll start to discover Armenia from the capital city. Yerevan is the city of the sun having 2801long years of history. Firstly, pay a visit to Genocide Memorial dedicated to the Armenians massacred in 1915. Then, head to Victory Park to see the whole city in front of you. Enjoy the lively atmosphere of the park and take the way down through the open-air museum arcade Complex. Afterwards, visit Matenadaran which is one of the biggest and oldest book depositories in the world. And finally, pay a visit to Megerian Carpet Factory where thousands of carpets and rugs are kept. Finalise your day at Ararat Brandy Factory where you will get acquainted with cognac making process and taste two types of real Armenian royal cognac.

Day 2 Geghard -Garni-Symphony of Stones*-Vernissage. May 17:

Make your way out towards Geghard Monastery – a unique monastic complex with huge history and importance. The monastery is carved out of a huge rock and is in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites’ List. The next step will be at an idyllic village Garni where you will see the Hellenistic-style pagan temple. Garni is the only pagan temple in Armenia dating back to the 1st century. The territory of the temple once was the royal residence. Coming back to Yerevan, you will head to Vernissage – an open-air museum with thousands of hand-made works which you can get as souvenirs for your family and friends.  

*Optional: If you want we can arrange a hiking or jeeping tour to Symphony of Stones. They are natural wonders and are worth visiting. They are in the gorge of the Azat River. You will go to the gorge get amazed by the uniqueness of the Symphony and indulge yourself in the surroundings (extra fee $20).

Day 3 Saghmosavank-Haghpat-Akhtala-DilijanMay 18:

Feel the antiquity. Saghmosavank is a magical monastery on the edge of the gorge by the Kasagh river. It is an early 13th-century monastery in the Aragatsotn region. The monastery was famous for its manuscripts and book-depository where a lot of miniatures-illustrations have been copied and created as well. Then head to the northern region of Armenia Lori, where you will see two amazing architectural pieces. The first one is Haghpat included in UNESCO World Heritage List. The monastery is unique due to its architectural style and Amenaprkich cross-stone (Khachkar). Afterwards, visit Akhtala, another masterpiece of Armenian architecture. The walls of the monastery are all covered with frescos which tell you the stories of the Bible.

Day 4 Haghartsin-Goshavank-Old DilijanMay 19:

You are in Dilijan, sometimes called Armenian Switzerland for its incredibly green, forested and rich nature. The richness of the surrounding will amaze you as everything is in green. And amid all this, you discover Haghartsin Monastery which has once been the centre of Armenian educational, cultural life. The monastery was restored by the Sheikh of Sharjah. He was so impressed by the beauty and greatness of the monastery that he couldn’t stay indifferent. And last but not least, you head to Goshavank. It is a great monastery dating back to the twelfth century. One of the most remarkable philosophers Mkhitar Gosh has lived there. He has made the first book of Law which has been the bases for different countries in the world. Afterwards, head to Old Dilijanwhich is a street with a distinctive style of architecture and culture.

Day 5 Sevanavank-Selim-Karahunj-Old Cave Dwellings of GorisMay 20:

You continue to discover Armenia and its wonderful culture. Therefore, you head to the northern region of Armenia. Firstly, visit Lake Sevan which is the largest freshwater lake in the Caucasus. Going up the hill you will see Sevanavank, a 9th-century monastic complex. The view from the monastery is awe-inspiring. Continue your way to Selim which has been a caravanserai for travellers along the Silk Road. It has been a large inn for hundreds of people. Then, head to Karahunj, a number of unique stones with special holes on the upper part gathered together based on some calculations. Do you know what it is? It is the Armenian Stonehenge. Yes, yes. In addition, Karahunj is older than Stonehenge itself (scientists state so). Then, you will head to Goris, one of the most important towns in the country where you will visit Old Cave Dwellings.

Day 6 Goris-Tatev Monastery– Noravank-Areni Cave-Wine Tasting- Khor Virap-YerevanMay 21:

You will leave Goris for Tatev monastery. Take the longest cable car to get to the monastery. The monastery once was an educational centre-university for international students. Head to Noravank hidden amid the red rocky mountains. The monastic complex is the queen of the mountains surrounding her. Next stop of the day will be at Areni Cave. The recent excavations have shown that wine has been produced in Armenia as early as 6000 years ago. And then come down from the cave and taste the exceptional wines of Areni cellar. Last but not least, you will head to Khor Virap, one of the greatest constructions in Armenia. The monastic complex is the place where Gregory the Illuminator was kept for 13years before adopting Christianity as the state religion of Armenia.

Day 7 St Hripsime-St Gayane -Etchmiadzin-ZvartnotsMay 22:

This time you head to the spiritual city Etchmiadzin. On the way, first of all, visit St Hripsime church an incredible building devoted to St Hripsime who was preaching Christianity in Armenia. Then, head to St Gayane. This one is also a church devoted to the other preacher named Gayane. Not far from the St Gayane, visit Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Inside you will enter the Treasury Museum where you will find very important pieces from Christianity, such as the ‘Geghard’, with the help of which the Roman soldiers pierced Jesus Christ. On the way back to Yerevan, pay a visit to Zvartnots Cathedral. The amazing temple is standing in ruins, but its beauty is incomparable even in that way. Behind the temple, biblical Mt Ararat is rising. In short, breathtaking scenery.
